Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival
Get into the smoky, swinging, sliding and shaking beats of the blues at the 2012 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon. Held in Tom McCall Waterfront Park, on the west bank of the Willamette River, from July 4 to 8, this five-day Portland blues festival features 150 stellar acts rocking out four stages, as well as Blues Cruises and After Hours All-Stars Concerts. The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is the largest blues festival on the West Coast and the second largest in the country!
Held along Portland’s lively waterfront, the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival offers an amazing lineup of blues musicians from around the country, including Charlie Musselwhite, Steve Miller Band, Elvin Bishop, Delta Rhythm Kings, Booker T, Galactic, JJ Grey &Mofro, Booker T., The California Honeydrops , Pimps of Joytime and Portland’s own Curtis Salgado. See some of the festival's biggest blue acts at four After Hours All-Stars concerts at the Marriott Hotel Ballroom, across the street from the festival.
The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival will also present blues workshops, intimate performances, interviews, jam sessions and children's programs. Enjoy the fabulous fireworks over the Willamette River as the festival celebrates the Fourth of July with bang. Cruise the beautiful Willamette River and hear the blues in an intimate setting on the Portland Spirit on one of the festival's six DME Blues Cruises.
