Gresham Arts Festival 2015
Saturday, July 18
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Over 150 fine artists, makers and craftspeople will be at the annual Gresham Arts Festival. They work in a variety of media including watercolor and photography, glass and ceramics. Stroll through the booths-you just might go home with a special treasure! In addition to the arts on display, musical entertainment will be on hand throughout the day on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th streets. You'll hear everything from the sounds of solo guitarist Eric Johnson to the soul-jazz and boogaloo of the Jonathan Smith Jazz Trio.
The Festival promises something extra special for children in the Kids' Village, located in Gresham's Arts Plaza. They can play with arts and crafts, transform their looks through face painting and glitter tattoos, and enjoy the interactive Splash Fountain! Sno-cone treats will be available for purchase. Little ones will want to jump up and boogie with special entertainment like "kindie" rockers Micha & Me. Coolest of all is the Chalk of Fame, a special Festival event this year. The goal is to have participants create 350 chalk drawings in one space and set a Guinness World Record!
The Festival takes place in historic downtown Gresham, just 2 miles from Quality Inn Gresham - Portland. Leave your car at the hotel and stroll or cycle to the event along the Springwater Trail, leading to Main City Park across Powell Boulevard. Free Festival valet parking for bicycles at 5th Street and Main Avenue will be on hand. Bring your own lock. Public transportation is also available on the MAX Blue Line. Exit at the Gresham Central Transit stop, a few blocks walk from the Festival.
