welcome to Quality Inn portland blogBest of H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival & CTHULHUCON
October 4, 2014
Each year, the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival showcases the stories of H.P. Lovecraft along with literary horror and other quirky works. These imaginative ideas are brought to life on the big screen by both professional and amateur filmmakers. Started in 1995, this film festival is approaching its 20th anniversary honoring this gothic horror cult hero.
If you're looking for fun yet unique things to do in Portland, grab your tickets to the short film blocks coming to the big screen on October 4th. For one day only, the fest will be a best-of theme from the last almost two decades. This event is meant to get moviegoers excited about next year's major milestone marker.
The "Best of the HPLFF" will feature films from the past, present, and future – so you can get a glimpse of what's to come. The 20th Anniversary event takes place next year at exactly the same time and place: October 2-4th at the restored 1926 Hollywood Theatre. For 2014, you can come out for a full evening of one-of-a-kind entertainment. There's a long list of short films on the schedule. And horror lovers are in for a treat with a rare screening of Hellraiser, followed by a Q+A with Doug Bradley.
Purchase advance tickets online at http://hplfilmfestival.com/portland-or. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the Festival Preview plays at 7 p.m. on the Main Screen. Once you've found your seat and gotten your popcorn, you'll be prepared for two short film blocks, separated by a brief intermission. Enjoy the show!
