Raise your glass and sample wines from over 20 Oregon wineries and vineyards at the 3rd annual Columbia Gorge Wine and Pear Festival in Hood River, OR. Tastings and fruit pairings from award-winning winemakers such as Bob Lorkowski, John Haw, Rich Cushman, and Franco Marchesi take center stage at this two day event but there is much more to experience with great food from local restaurants, live music and entertainment, including the Gulizia Brothers (featuring a member of Manheim Steamroller) local artisans and more. And because it is held at the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) you can also peruse one of the largest still-flying antique airplanes and still-driving antique automobiles in the country.
The festival takes place Saturday May 18th from 11am - 6pm and Sunday May 19th from 12-5pm at WAAAM (1600 Air Museum Rd Hood River, OR 97031). A Day Pass is $20 per person includes 4 wine-tastings, commemorative glass and admission to WAAAM and a Weekend Pass is $35 per person and includes 4-tastings, commemorative wine glass and admission both days to WAAAM. Early bird tickets through May 11st are $15 for 1 day and under 21 admission only tickets are $10. All tickets are available at the Local Wine events website https://www.localwineevents.com/tickets/i_want/462040. Proceeds go to the Rotary Club of Hood River Scholarship Program, funding scholarships to area youth for higher education. For more information visit http://www.wineandpearfest.com/
