welcome to Quality Inn portland blog
The annual Festival Flowers, a Portland tradition, takes place in “Portland’s Living Room” at the beginning of every summer, a time that locals take full advantage of outdoors. This 29th year’s design, very much in keeping with the local vibe, is Tattoo Portland. Created by local landscape architecture firm Lango Hansen The Square will be 'inked' with a giant heart composed of nearly 20,000 begonias, impatiens and pansies and flanked by “flames” of marigolds and zinnias. The 2 week-long event begins May 31st and culminates with a flower sale where the blooms are sold at deep discounts. The design will be on display at Pioneer Courthouse Square between 6th and Broadway, Morrison and Yamhill beginning May 31st and is free and open to the public. The Flower sale marks the end of the event and begins at 8am Wednesday June 12th.
