welcome to Quality Inn portland blog

The renowned violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn joins the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra for two amazing nights of music, including a performance of Corigliano's breathtaking Chaconne, from the movie The Red Violin. The celebrated violinist performs on a legendary 1720 "Red Mendelssohn" Stradivarius violin, a cherished instrument with three centuries of history and music. The PCSO will also be playing Leopold Stokowski’s lush interpretation of Bach's iconic Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, as well as a colorful set of variations from Elgar's Enigma Variations. The night of music will include three distinct parts:
  • Bach/Stokowski: Toccata and Fugue in D Minor
  • Corigliano: The Red Violin Chaconne with Elizabeth Pitcairn
  • Elgar: Enigma Variations, Op. 38
You'll have two chances to witness this epic performance. The first show takes place on Friday, November 21 at 7:30PM at the First United Methodist Church, located at 1838 SW Jefferson Street in Portland. The second performance will take place on Sunday, November 23 at 3PM at Mount Hood Community College, located at NE Kane Drive and 29th Street in Gresham.
